What organizations are eligible to have stores and donation platforms?

Generally, the following types of organizations are eligible to have stores and donation platforms on splitShops:

• 501(c)(3) public charities, and
• public schools

Among these organizations, some organizations are not eligible:

• Any entity if the purpose is not charitable.
• Any entity to satisfy legally binding pledges of the donor, advisor, or related parties.
• Any entity from which the donor, advisor or related parties will receive more than incidental benefits.
• Any entity for the purpose of supporting a political campaign or lobbying activity.
• Any non-United States based entities.
• Any churches and houses of worship that have not been issued a tax-exemption letter by the Treasury Department, unless they operate under an umbrella exemption letter.
• Any for-profit organizations, even if limited to charitable purposes.
• Any organizations that discriminate or that one of their purposes is to glorify discrimination.
